Your license key

BHPanel is free. Every server needs its own license key, and the key is free.

Getting a key

Order the free BHPanel license in the BiswasHost client area. The key looks like BHP-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX and is shown on the service's License tab and in the welcome email.

You can have as many keys as you have servers. An account can have up to 3 keys waiting to be activated at a time; order the next one when the last is in use.

Adding the key

Any one of these:

  • During install: sudo BHP_LICENSE=KEY installer/bhpanel-install.sh all
  • In the panel: Server › License, paste the key, press Activate.
  • On the server: sudo bhpanelctl license.set key=KEY

The key works on the first server it is activated on.

How it is checked

The panel checks its license with bhpanel.net once a week and keeps a signed copy between checks. Without a key, a new install works fully for 14 days.

If something is wrong with the license

Only creating new accounts, resellers and websites stops, and the admin panel shows a banner saying why. Every existing website, mailbox, DNS zone and database keeps running. A license never takes a customer offline.

Moving to another server

  1. Open the license in your BiswasHost client area.
  2. On the License tab, press Move to another server.
  3. Add the key on the new server.

The old server is refused at its next check: its sites keep running, but it can no longer create new accounts or websites.
